Ms. María Claudia Garcia Gomez is the president of MCG Consultores. She is a former senior director of public policy & communication for the Latin America Regional Office of Merck Sharp & Dohme in Brazil.  She has served as the union leader of the AFIDRO–Laboratory Association Pharmaceutical of Research and of the Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics–ACHC. Ms. Garcia has also worked for KPMG, Western of Colombia, Institute of Research, Santa Fe Foundation of Bogata, and Colsistemas. She also has had experience as a coach. 

Ms. Garcia has also worked in the public sector in Colombia. She has served as the General Secretary of the National Department of Planning, Director of International Cooperation, Director of Commercial Information on Proexport, and Chief of Systems of the National Institute of Renewable Natural Resources and of the Environment. Ms. Garcia has also been an advisor to the Ministers of Foreign Trade and Communications, the Fund for Social Reconstruction and Development of the Coffee Belt, the Secretary of the Capital District Government, and the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS). 

Other organizations in which she has shared her expertise and time include the Andean Chapter of the International Federation of Coaches (board of directors), the National Social Security Council of Health (CNSSS), the National Commission of Fellowships, and the governing board of several corporations in Latin America.  

Ms. Garcia was trained in systems and computer engineering at the University of the Andes and has a master's in public administration from Harvard University.

She joined the board of the Pan American Health and Education Foundation in 2008.

Ms. Garcia signed a conflict of interest statement and agrees to abide by PAHEF's conflict of interest policy.
