Founded in 1968, the Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF) is a U.S.-based, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that builds public health expertise leading to innovative development of healthier generations in the Americas by partnering with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The Vice President of Development and Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, strategic fundraising plan to significantly grow the resources of PAHEF. In partnership with the Board of Directors and the President, the Vice President of Development and Partnerships works closely with PAHO senior leadership and other strategic partners in identifying programs and projects under the Four Strategic Priorities for which funding is sought:  chronic disease prevention and healthy aging, immunizations, neglected tropical diseases and health education.

We seek an accomplished fundraising professional who can demonstrate experience in leading development programs for organizations whose mission is focused on international cooperation, corporate social responsibility, and/or partnership development.  This person would ideally possess a strong track record of gifts obtained from foundations, corporations and governmental sources for an international organization of similar scale as PAHEF; however, demonstration of significant accomplishments raising money from such sources in other large, U.S. national organizations would be acceptable.  The person we seek must be able to work closely and cooperatively with others in a highly multicultural setting.  Prior experience working in a large, complex and policy-driven organization would be particularly helpful. Fluency in English and/or Spanish and/or Portuguese would be a plus; if only English-speaking, the candidate’s desire to quickly learn Spanish and/or Portuguese would be highly desirable. The ability to travel domestically and internationally is required.
