Help Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti

The Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, was devastated by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, the strongest ever felt along the fault line, on January 12. The city is home to 2 million people, some of whom are the poorest in the Hemisphere. This already fragile country is reeling as thousands have lost their homes, businesses, and what few possessions they had.

Malaria Day in the Americas is November 6


Approximately 57% of people living within the Americas are at risk of malaria infection. To draw attention to the issue, Malaria Day in the Americas will be observed for the third consecutive year on November 6, 2009. It will be the platform upon which countries of the Region can engage in a year-round aggressive campaign against the disease.
