Pioneer in Veterinary Health Receives Inter-American Leadership Award2006-09-25, Before an international forum of high-level government health officials, ambassadors and other VIPs and on behalf of the board of trustees of the Pan American Health and Education Foundation, Dr. Frederick Naftolin presented the Abraham Horwitz Award for Leadership in Inter-American Healthto Dr. James H. Steele, former Assistant Surgeon General for Veterinary Affairs under Presidents Johnson and Nixon for the US Public Health Service for his outstanding contributions to veterinary public health in the Americas. He accepted the award on the first day of the 47th annual Directing Council meeting of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
